Discover the art of perfect location lighting, building a set and developing a concept to produce incredible location portraits with multi award winning advertising and fine art photographer Joe Giacomet.
Represented by the same agency as Don McCullin, Joe routinely attempts to bankrupt himself in his desire to make more pictures. His artistic output mixed with his technical expertise produces a distinct style which has won him the Professional Photographer of the Year Award for Location Portrait and seen him published in Professional Photographer, Digital Photographer and Turning Pro magazines.
Joe’s creative ability alongside his technical wizardry enable him to make truly unique portraits. He is in high demand across a wide spectrum of clients from advertising agencies to musicians.
On this shoot you’ll work on two sets to create two very different portraits.
The first shoot will be the creation of gritty male portrait in an industrial workshop setting. You’ll work with Joe to build the set, create the narrative and set up the lighting. Joe will supply lighting and props to build the scene.
The day’s second shoot will be a huge contrast to the first. It will be a beautiful and magical high key shot of a female model with floating butterflies.
Joe will explain and demonstrate the importance of establishing a good camera angle, dynamic lighting, plus using gels and diffusion to bring life to the picture. You’ll also work with him on set styling, and learn how to create interesting sets with simple items.
This shoot is for you if you’re building or expanding your portfolio and would like the opportunity to shoot with a photographer who is outstanding at creating unique portraits which tell stories and is a master of location lighting,
You will create your own images with Joe and create some amazing images for your own portfolio.
The skills you learn on this shoot will take your location lighting and portrait photography skills to an advanced level.
