I've participated in three workshops with 36exp over the last 12months and each has been excellent. Steve is a fabulous instructor who takes the time to get to know you, your gear and provide a helping hand. I get to visit London locations that I would otherwise be a bit nervous going to myself (think the Thames riverbank at night) and have taken some brilliant shots!

I went to a long exposure course, hosted by Steve Franck. Very personable guy, with heaps of knowledge and very willing to help. Taught me a lot about LE, the maths needed which was particularly useful, and also about composition - which took me out of my comfort zone, with some great results. Highly recommended: I will be back.

We recently attended a night photography workshop hosted by Steve Franck was amazed by how talented he is. He is also a very passionate instructor. There were 6 of us in the group and he spent extra time for each and everyone one of us, individually to address any issues and answer questions. He went above and beyond anything I have seen so far in many similar workshops I have attended so far. As a result, I will highly recommend Steve for any photography event and session.

I really enjoyed the Wedding Seminar. The instructor Adam was a great communicator and knew just about everything there was to know about Wedding Photography. I learned a great deal from him. In addition the two models acting the parts of Bride and Groom were very professional and knew their business. Altogether, an excellent course with a good balance. Well worth the money. Now I am back home I am looking into the software he recommended and thinking about a couple of prime lenses.

5/5. I recently participated in Studio Lighting Course, tutored by Steve Franck. I genuinely enjoyed the class: it was highly informative, interactive and incredibly interesting. The studio is well equipped and has everything one needs to learn. Steve did a wonderful job. He knows how to deliver at times complex material in an entertaining way. It was obvious that my comfort, understanding of the subject and professional growth was his priority. I highly recommend 36Exp and their team if you want to improve your photography skills.

Our Introduction for photography day was an unqualified success: Steve is a natural teacher and got us taking some special shots with black backgrounds and highlit subjects within the day. An hour or so telling us the basics on a well-structured slideshow explained ISO, aperture and shutter speed, light exposure and lots more.He was excellent company, took the time to explain things clearly and our heads were full by 4pm!Many thanks to Andrew too for his flexibility in organising several dates for us through Covid and other awkward obstacles. We got there.

My first experience with this group taking part in the East / West night time photography trip. Any enjoyable evening, thanks Steve.

I recently attended the Tower Bridge night shoot. This was my 1st time using 36exp and won't be my last! Very enjoyable experience spent with a very knowledgeable photographer as our guide. Could have done with more time maybe another hour but other than that I learned a lot and got the photos I wanted. Will definitely do another course or two with this company. An excellent course and highly recommended.

Studio Portrait photography: It was a fantastic course. The group was very small, so there was lots of time to have a go and explore different lighting setups. With plenty of constructive feedback, the pace was just right for the hands-on learning everything from how to use a light meter to working with four light sources. I’d thoroughly recommend this course.

Street Photography with Steve Franck at Borough Market ... an excellent and informative day with Steve, who was sensitive to the mixed levels of experience in our group and shared his time accordingly. The suggested mini-assignments included creative ideas and techniques that I hadn't really thought about in great depth before, but now I can see what I need to concentrate on, in order to improve my 'hit rate' ! Thanks Steve and 36exp !

I had 7 sessions, each 3 hours long, bespoke to the photography I was needing training in which varied from out on projects, in the studio and outdoors.Wow, where do I start?! - From first contact through to completion, Andrew made sure everything was arranged in time and all I had to do was turn up.- I did not know what to expect in quality of the training, but was blown away by the professionalism, high standards and thoroughness of the training.- Each member of the team helped me to understand, and taught in a way that I would be able to learn, not in a robotic way that would be used for everyone.- I was able to spread out and adjust when and what sessions happened next, and spread it out over a couple of months allowing me to practise and iron out problems in between. - cost - I had 8 quotes in for similar types of training. Some of the quotes were from individual photographers. This wasn't the cheapest quote in the pile, sitting at about 3rd cheapest, but we went for it because of the quality. Price on this kind of thing cannot be your determining factor of who to choose for the teaching, because you could lose out big time on quality of the teaching with other organisations.- The trainers are all friendly, and very very experienced in what they do. There isn't one trainer who does all categories; it is passed to the specific professional for that area.Overall, an amazing experience, I learnt a lot, and when I was struggling to understand something, it would be explained in a different way, rather than left to work it out on my own. As result of this training, I have been able to turn my photography skills around, and have been able to produce project photography, product photography and am starting to get freelance projects.

The portrait workshop with Andrew Mason, was amazing and one of the biggest and most rewarding steps I have taken on my photography journey. Steve Franck was excellent - he was friendly and approachable. The course had the perfect balance between theory and practice. He explained the basic principles of photography really well, used my camera to show examples while he was teaching, and gave some useful tips and was very encouraging when we did the hands-on activities in the Borough Market. Amazing Beginner's Photography CourseI received an SLR camera for my birthday but had no clue how to use it. My family recommended getting lessons, so I searched high and low for a good beginner's photography course online (literally spent about 4 weeks looking and comparing courses), fearful that I was going to get sucked into a 6 week commitment that would end up not being good value for money. I wanted a course that was both practically and theoretically informative, affordable and inspiring and 36EXP was all of these and more! It is great value for money, wonderfully taught, and gave me such a huge confidence boost, I could not recommend this course highly enough! Ellie was a fantastic teacher, with such patience, knowledge, and her creative inspiration was infectious; I want to sign up for an intermediate one immediately! Thank you 36EXP for a wonderful experience and opening up a world of possibilities for me and my camera.

I attended the 36exp Wedding Photography Course on the 21st March 2018, and loved the day. The course was presented and conducted by Adam Riley who photographs weddings in a reportage style but catered for all styles. We had an opportunity to photograph a bride and groom in the surrounding streets and in St George's church, Bloomsbury with input and advice from Adam. There was approximately 8 in the group which was great as sometimes courses have too many people. The afternoon involved going through the business components and Adam shared his experiences and business start-up. Would definitely recommend for people interested in starting a business in wedding photography.

Daniel Kennedy is a fashion portrait photographer at the top of his game. Which is why it was such a treat to get his introduction to celebrity and fashion photography. He had a full team on hand: two models, a hair and make up artist and a stylist. He took us through the fashion portrait process, allowing us to shoot, and gave guidance on studio lighting and post production. He was conscientious, open and inspiring. Fabulous course. Thank you!

I attended the Off Camera Flash workshop previously. I attended the workshop again on the 25th July, 2017. The previous workshop we was given a list of all the kit you need. When I attended this time I bought all my own gear (2 flash units, triggers, soft box and stand). I wanted to be able to set up properly and use the kit. I was pleasantly surprised at the results you can achieve by using fairly inexpensive flash units. I highly recommend the course to other photographers who want to take their art to another level.
